This professional development course, delivered by the seasoned experts at Octans Business Services LLC, is designed to equip an airline’s Nominated Persons with the critical knowledge and practical leadership tools required to excel in their safety oversight roles.

Moving beyond basic compliance, the curriculum focuses on the proactive application of Safety Management System (SMS) principles to effectively manage risk, champion a positive safety culture, and fulfill their significant personal accountability within the organization.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Articulate the core components of an SMS and the specific responsibilities of a Nominated Person within that framework.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate safety hazards relevant to their operational area.

  • Apply practical tools for safety risk management, safety assurance, and emergency response preparedness.

Target Audience:

This course is essential for all individuals designated as Nominated Persons (e.g., Postholders for Flight Operations, Maintenance, Ground Operations, etc.) and is highly recommended for Senior Managers who hold safety accountability.

Course Duration:

The course can be tailored to include airline-specific policy workshops, extending the duration for a more customized implementation.
